How many stages can the drying process of sintered bricks be divided into? If sintered bricks do not dry well, there will be various problems during use, which will make it impossible to continue construction. Therefore, the drying process should be done well. What is the common drying process we use?
1. The heating stage of bricks. Before entering the drying kiln, the temperature of the sintered brick body to be dried is the temperature inside the workshop. As the drying process progresses, the temperature of the body gradually increases and the drying speed accelerates until the temperature of the body is equal to the wet bulb temperature of the hot air. At this point, the heat transferred to the body by the hot air is exactly equal to the heat required for the surface moisture evaporation of the body, achieving thermal equilibrium. The brick body then enters the constant speed stage of drying.
2. Constant speed drying stage. The stage of free moisture removal is the main stage in the drying process of sintered brick bodies. When the moisture content in the body is high, the evaporation of moisture only occurs on the surface of the body, while the internal moisture moves towards the surface through capillary channels, keeping the surface of the brick body moist. At this point, the internal diffusion speed of the brick blank is equal to the external diffusion speed, and the drying speed is fast, and it is carried out at a constant speed, so it is called the constant speed drying stage. At this stage, the drying rate is equal to the evaporation rate of free water, and the water discharged from drying is the water between the clay particles of the body, that is, shrinkage. The body undergoes shrinkage, that is, drying shrinkage. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the drying process operation, as improper operation can easily lead to drying cracks or deformation of the billet.
3. Slow down drying stage. During the slow drying stage of brick bodies, the moisture on the surface of the body is equal to the adsorbed moisture in the atmosphere. The evaporation surface gradually shrinks into the capillary channels inside the body as the moisture decreases, and the drying speed gradually decreases. During drying, the body does not shrink, but rather increases the number of pores accordingly. Due to the fact that the sintered brick body does not undergo volume shrinkage during the slow drying stage, there will be no drying cracks in the brick body during the slow drying stage.
4. Dry equilibrium stage. After the slow drying stage of sintered brick body is completed under a certain drying system, when the moisture content of the body is balanced with atmospheric moisture, the drying of the body is in an equilibrium state. At this time, the drying speed of the brick body reaches zero, and the entire drying process of the brick body is terminated.
